Great Corporate Games Team Leader Orientation Day in Stoke On Trent and Staffordshire

20 Mar 2015

Europe’s largest multisport festival for businesses, the UK Corporate Games is coming to Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire from the 25-28th June. This week saw preparations intensify as the Games team staged the Team Leader Orientation Day.

The Team Leader Orientation Day gave committed company Team Leaders from the likes of IBM, Virgin Trains, C2HMHILL, CSC, Lloyds Banking Group and a host of others the opportunity to get their first glimpse of the venues that will be hosting the Games in June.

Team Leaders from Preston, Blackpool, Leeds, London, Swindon and throughout the UK were joined by local business men and women from Staffordshire who were keen to see the venues and to learn a little more about what the Games can do for their business.

The journey began at Alton Towers Resort with a fabulous lunch in the impressive Conferencing facilities at the Alton Towers Hotel followed by a brief Games presentation.

The guests then boarded a luxury Walton’s coach to see the array of impressive venues for sport and celebrations that Stoke and Staffordshire had to offer for this year’s Games.  Some visitors and locals alike were surprised by what was available in the region and everybody was seemingly impressed by the great indoor capacity at Fenton Manor and St. Peters College, the incredible investment and regeneration that has taken place at Newcastle-under-Lyme College, the picturesque beauty of Trentham Gardens, the extensive facilities at Keele University and the great location of the SuperCentre at the Staffs University SportsCentre and Student complex.

It was a real whistle stop tour before the coach headed back to Alton Towers for the evening entertainment.

Once inside the Corporate Games guests were treated to a heart-stopping experience as they enjoyed exclusive use of the roller-coaster Oblivion before making their way to the Sea Life Centre for Champagne and delicious Canapes.

Games Director Ben Sedgemore commented “ We have all had a fabulous day and I know we have surprised a lot of people with the quality of what is available in this region.  The facilities are superb and in Alton Towers there is a really unique environment.  People are familiar with the Park’s outstanding reputation as one of the prime entertainment parks in the world but in addition to this people may not realise that they have one of the best hospitality and conferencing programmes that we have seen.  We would be happy to recommend it to anyone based upon our experience”.

Alton Towers was successful in being awarded the UK Corporate Games Closing Awards celebration so guests at that should be in for a treat too.

The Games is open to you regardless of the size of the Organisation that you would be keen to represent and there is something for everyone in the packed 23 sport, business and celebratory programme

Companies have up to 3 June to register and can do so at www.corporate-games.com or by calling 01733 380888 for more details.
